Genuine Mini Spares product, fits 3 and 4-synchro gearboxes except for rod change types which use GAE191. This switch replaces the plug on the front of the remote-shift transmission case. It is triggered internally by the shift linkage when reverse is selected. This must be fitted with an insulating fibre washer and a small plug 22G351 in the gearbox to activate the switch—the original washer 2K7914 is no longer available but 1B3664 can be used although the internal hole is slightly to large.

BEWARE OF SWITCHES AVAILABLE WITH WRONG THREAD AND PLUNGER SIZE-ALL USING PART NUMBER GAE131 THAT WERE MEANT TO REPLACE THIS PART,BUT OURS IS CORRECT.+

PS. if using the wrong shorter smaller diameter (7.7mm) 4 Synchro rod change detent spring the switch will jam up, so make sure you are using 3cm long 2A3647 spring (8.8mm wide). The smaller diameter spring pushes the switch detent plunger in all of the time causing seizure,closure or jamming of switch.
