The modern answer are these large 3″ x 5.5″ black plactic housed door mirrors. Used on MOST 1980 on models of the Mini, they look good and allow you to look great (rearwards). See JPC9848MS for right side, GAM215 & GAM216 in polished stainless steel and for chrome on plastic finish see the slightly larger GAM110 & GAM111.
