Always replace the dust shield sponge 21A30 between the body and rack where the spindle that locates the inner column sits.Also ensure the anti friction/static packing pieces 21A2553 are fitted.

Steering Rack Anti Friction Strip

- Called an anti friction strip this plain looking (plastic) piece of strip is used on all mini steering racks between the U bolt and the rack probably because the U bolt is hard steel and the rack is softer rough cast alloy. See 2A6208 for U bolts. Sold singly 2 required per rack.
Steering Column Lower Plastic Bush ‘85 On

Steering Rack to Body Seal

- The sponge dust shield that fits over the splined area of the steering rack as it bolts up against the bulk head. Usually it is sold with the centre part cut but not pushed out, but it pops out easily and is shown on our picture as a reference only. The centre part is discarded.
Steering Wheel Boss V3, Not MPi

Steering Column Cowl Mk2/3 (Without Steering Lock Hole)
